For the first ten (or more) years of your child’s life, there will be a big part of their daily lives that will be dedicated to their education. How they will be educated will affect their futures, from what career paths they will choose to the certain skill sets that they will obtain so they can do their jobs properly.
For most people, the one place that they will have their educational experiences (aside from home, of course) is in school. The learning institutions they will go to will be responsible for shaping their future outlook. It doesn’t take an educational consultant in Singapore to realise that learning to cope with school is a must if you want your child to have a good experience.
But what if your child actively despises or, at the least, dislikes the thought of going to school? It’s not impossible because many children encounter school issues or feel pressured by the environment. So what are the ways on how to motivate children to learn how to have fun at school?
Here are some parenting tips in Singapore to help you out.
1. Resist overstuffing their schedules. Experiencing fatigue and stress in school is the quickest way to get them to hate it. Make sure your child’s schedule has allotted “me-time” so they can do whatever they please.
2. Set up a school and homework routine. Learn how to motivate your kids to study by setting a clear routine. This will help them focus better and have more time for themselves.
3. Show an interest in their school life. And not just grades! If you don’t want to hear what they do in school, they may easily get discouraged because they have no one to talk to.
