Over the recent years, the number of dengue cases in Singapore has increased. And in hopes of eradicating the disease, the island's National Education Association created a dengue cluster to identify which areas have had two or more cases within 14 days.

If you found yourself belonging to a dengue cluster in Singapore, here are some steps you could do to keep mosquitoes away from your homes!

Reduce Breeding Habitats
Aedes mosquitoes love to breed in areas that hold stagnant water like roof gutters and vases. Reduce these areas by turning cans and other vases over.
Make sure that their rims are dry and start storing them in areas where they won't get wet.

Start Cleaning Out Your Junk
Mosquitoes can lay eggs wherever there's water. So to prevent rainwater from getting collected, start throwing away junk that can hold water.
Get rid of old car tires properly and clean out any other little like bottles as well as cups.

Don't Let Them In
In tropical places like Singapore, keeping your windows shut can be hard. Now, how do you keep the mosquitoes out?

Start investing in screens that keep these bugs out. Mosquitoes are also attracted to light to make sure that no one gets in, protect your home properly.

Change Standing Water Weekly
If your outdoor living space has birdbaths and other surfaces that have standing water, clean it regularly.

Remove any algae that have formed around your pond and change your birdbath's water weekly.

Use Mosquito Repellent, Inside and Out
Most people use mosquito repellent inside their homes. But if you want your family to enjoy the outdoors without any worry, it's time to start using them outside as well.
